Why we choose The Brazilian Court Hotel & Beach Club

The Brazilian Court is an in-town, oh-so-fashionable Palm Beach favorite

  • Mediterranean-inspired heated outdoor pool and garden sunning piazza
  • A shuttle whisks guest to a private beach minutes away
  • The onsite Frédéric Fekkai Salon and Spa pampers you in legendary style

If you’re so over hulking 400-room hotels, the intimate Brazilian Court has your number. And that number is 80, as in studios and one, two- and three-bedroom suites. We appreciate that this chic boutique has the intimate feel of a private property and a cater-to-your-every-whim approach to service that starts at the doorstep.

What you need to know about the hotel

This discreet luxury hotel is located in one of the chicest cities in the U.S.

  • People-watching hotspot Cafe Boulud offers small plates that act as a mini-tour of Daniel Boulud’s NYC restaurants
  • Some suites are named after the famous faces who’ve stayed there the past: Astair, Brando, Hepburn and Crawford to name a few
  • In-room indulgences include rose petal turndown and sweets made by the in-house pastry chef paired with Daniel Boulud’s Champagne

The Brazilian Court is a hidden gem that’s been catering to socialites and celebrities since 1926. Its renown has grown so much over the years that the Mediterranean-style hotel was designated as a landmark in 1994. It has an ultra-luxe style that changes to fit the times, exemplified by the latest revamp—a $45 million renovation in 2008—that introduced hand-crafted cabinetry, top-notch appointments like jetted baths and the latest technology. Yet even with these improvements, it retains the Colonial feeling that generations have come to know and love.

In addition to spectacular architecture and interiors, the Brazilian Court offers one of Palm Beach’s most coveted dining spots: Café Boulud. The awards have rolled in since its 2003 opening (four stars in the Forbes Travel Guide, Wine Spectator’s “Best of Award of Excellence”), and we give high marks to the outdoor patio, which offers an elegant dining experience to remember.

Where is it and what's nearby

The hotel’s aura of privacy is enhanced by courtyards that are surrounded by lush tropical foliage

  • Take in the scent of the tree that inspired Chanel No. 5—the ylang-ylang tree at the Society of the Four Arts
  • Bike the path along the Intracoastal Waterway to view gorgeous estates, the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden and the Marina
  • Worth Avenue shopping brings you toe to toe with Jimmy Choo, Gucci and other elite brands, as well as antiques shops

The Brazilian Court isn’t located on the beach, though an exclusive shuttle can have your feet in the sand within minutes. Instead, one of the great advantages of staying at the Brazilian Court is its proximity to shops, restaurants and cultural activities—all within walking distance.

Even better, the well thought-out landscaping and heart-of-hotel courtyard make everything seem much farther away. And while there are great museums, tennis, championship golf and endless water sports, people generally come to Palm Beach simply to revel in the exceptional year-round weather and take a breather.

How to enjoy Palm Beach

Palm Beach’s elegant sophistication is drawn from its ‘old money’ heritage. Regular past and current visitors include the Kennedys, the Astors and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor

  • Hear the gentle lap of waves against the hulls of stunningly luxurious yachts as you enjoy a sundown cocktail at the exclusive Palm Harbor Marina
  • Find interior decoration inspiration at the former home of Palm Beach founder Henry Flagler, today the Flagler Museum
  • Experience some of the best polo in the world at a tournament hosted by one of the locally-based international clubs

Palm Beach was founded at the turn of the twentieth as a winter playground for the wealthy. Located on a barrier island and connected to the mainland via drawbridges, it retains all of the glamour and allure of its early years. This legacy is perhaps most evident in the sheer volume of exclusive leisure opportunities.

The shopping street, Worth Avenue, which drives East to West from the Atlantic Seaboard to the inshore lagoon features stores including Tiffany & Co, Gucci and Armani to name but a few. The town hosts three polo clubs and other opportunities to play range from sport fishing charters, to luxury dive charters, yachting, golf and glittering charity balls.

The best hotel not on the beach.
