What you need to know about the hotel

A Turks & Caicos boutique for chic crowds that refuse to sacrifice service for style

  • The outdoor, 7,000-square-foot infinity pool is one of the few heated pools on the island
  • The massive Beachfront Penthouse is a luxe home away from home, with three bedrooms and wraparound terrace with hot tub
  • Exhale spa features fitness, core classes, spa therapies and transformative wellness programs—many of them proprietary—to promote whole body wellbeing

The Gansevoort’s flagship hotel in New York City reinvented the concept of hip luxury, and the brand has now turned its attention to the Caribbean. The Turks & Caicos outpost, recently named one of the top 10 trendiest resorts in the world, includes 91 studios and suites with panoramic views of stunning Grace Bay Beach. Private terraces adorn almost all rooms, while the interiors feature plush amenities like Frette towels and robes, bathrooms with spa tubs and custom rain showers and electric blackout blinds for a good night’s sleep.

The contemporary design extends to the resort’s facilities, including hot spots Stelle and Beach Bar, which focus on local seafood like conch, grouper, snapper, mahi mahi and Caribbean spiny lobster. And recreation doesn’t get better than the pool’s Island Pods, which offer unlimited G water, a fruit platter and a chilled bottle of rosé wine.

Where is it and what's nearby

The star of Gansevoort Turks & Caicos is undoubtedly Grace Bay, one of the world’s most beautiful beaches

  • Must-do water adventures include the conch and snorkeling trip, as well as world-class scuba diving
  • Private yacht charters allow you to view (and play in!) the island’s protected waters and reefs in grand style
  • The resort’s catch-and-eat offer: After a bottom or deep sea fishing excursion, Stelle will prepare your catch for that night’s dinner

Turks & Caicos is a unique Caribbean destination where, thanks to governmental mandates against development, you’ll discover some of the most pristine land and sea environments in the world. Gansevoort showcases this setting through its private, protected land location, creating an intimate resort that still provides great access to the rest of the island.

The oceanfront property, on the widest stretch of beach in Grace Bay, offers
almost any water activity you can think of—all within the third largest barrier
reef in the world. Non-aquatic activities in the area include golf, tennis and horseback riding on the beach.

How to enjoy Turks & Caicos

Just a 90 minute flight from Miami or Fort Lauderdale, the Turks and Caicos are almost too good to be true. Empty, pristine crescents of sand in secluded bays. Water that sparkles under the golden sun. And a gentle pace to life that is almost intoxicating

  • Meet official National Treasure, JoJo. A friendly Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin, JoJo enjoys playing with people in the sea at Grace Bay, Providenciales
  • Explore the largest chain of limestone caves in the Caribbean in Middle Caicos and the spectacular cliffs along the north shore
  • Get away from it all in charming Salt Cay. It is so small, the tourist office assures us that even visitors are welcomed by their first name

An archipelago of some 40 islands and cays, only eight of which are inhabited, the Turks and Caicos are a charming group of tropical isles with endless unspoilt beaches just crying out to be explored. Pack a picnic, find a boat and discover your own private beach, where the only cries to be heard will be from a passing pelican.

Life below the water is equally spectacular. Snorkelers and scuba divers will be rewarded with rich and colorful corals as well as an amazing 7,000 foot drop off, Columbus Passage. The Islands’ seafood is mouth-wateringly good. Be sure to try the local specialities, conch and lobster. The Islands’ other major export was salt. Visit the tidal flow at Boiling Hole on South Caicos to learn more.

When to visit Turks & Caicos

North Atlantic Humpback Whales are seen around the islands of Grand Turk and Salt Cay during the months of late January through early April as part of their annual migration.

  • We say

The bar and restaurant are the places to be in the evening.

  • We say

Young, hot addition to a classic location.
