Why we choose Jumby Bay

From the moment you’re whisked away from the airport by private car, you know you’re in for a fabulous vacation

  • Private island location with suites, villas or private estate homes
  • Inclusive resort with everything from cocktail cruises to lobster on the house
  • Complimentary watersports such as waterskiing, paddleboarding, kayaking, a complimentary children’s program and more

At Jumby Bay Resort every member of the staff knows your name (it’s nice—not creepy), and they put a premium on service and privacy. You’ll love it here if you’re looking for a private, luxurious place to escape. It certainly works for the many high-profile and celebrity guests who frequent the resort—though Jumby Bay isn’t naming names, being so private and all.

We suggest

All the guest accommodations are beautiful. Decide which suits your needs, from a cute octagonal bungalow to an expansive private villa.

What you need to know about the hotel

The aura of exclusive elegance envelops the resort, courtesy of the grand accommodations and top-tier amenities

  • Two pristine beaches offer concierge service, a stocked cabana, cushioned chaises and incredible views
  • The Jumby Bay Tennis Club has three courts, courtside drinks, on-staff pros and even clinics and tournaments
  • Dive into the poolside infinity pool or the verandah pool with lap lanes, aqua fitness classes and poolside reflexology

Settle into one of the 40 guestrooms and suites, 16 villas or 10 private estate homes—all with sea views. The estate homes, considered some of the most exclusive properties in the Caribbean and certainly our first choice at the resort, boast four to eight bedrooms and undeniable luxury, as well as access to all of the resort services. Jumby Bay offers three restaurants and a beach bar, a seaside spa plus plenty of activities to keep the whole crew happy.

Love it or hate it (most people love it), there are no cars on the island. Hotel guests get around via complimentary bicycles, though many prefer to simply stay put and revel in everything the inclusive resort offers.

Where is it and what's nearby

Jumby Bay’s exclusive island location raises the bar for luxurious tropical destinations

  • The resort’s renowned Hawksbill Turtle program lets you experience the rare creatures’ nesting from May to December
  • Take a hike! Spend an afternoon hiking Antigua’s numerous trails, or try Jumby Bay’s four miles of hiking and walking trails
  • Spice things up with Suzie’s Hot Sauce, a local product used on many foods at Jumby Bay

Long Island, home to Jumby Bay, is accessible from the harbour at St. John’s, Antigua, where the resort’s catamaran awaits to whisk you across this calm stretch of Caribbean Sea in seven minutes flat.

Antigua is a Caribbean island known for its beaches—a major accomplishment when you consider the competition. In addition to flawless white sand beaches, Antigua has wildlife galore, as well as eye-catching colonial British architecture left over from its days as a colony. Jumby Bay sports the same white sand beaches and tropical foliage, along with clear blue water just waiting for a snorkel or dive.

How to enjoy Antigua

With low humidity, year round sunshine and highs in the mid-eighties, Antigua has quite perfect weather. Add in glorious beaches and plentiful opportunities for play and you have what this island is made of

  • Take a helicopter tour of nearby Montserrat and view the steam clouds and occasional bursts of volcanic activity that put half of this island out of bounds
  • Charter a yacht to find secluded coves for snorkeling or sign the kids up for sailing lessons and fun messing about on the water
  • Unwind and relax in an indulgent spa with sugar cane and botanical oil treatments, classic pedicures and hot stone massages

Whether you are staying on an exclusive private island off the coast of Antigua or nestled into beachside luxury with a private plunge pool, Antigua has an indulgent feel. Your day may be spent at your own pace, lulled gently by the breeze in your beachside hammock, or sport fishing for Marlin and ziplining through the interior’s rainforest.

The island’s genteel English heritage can be seen everywhere from the national sport, cricket, to the beautifully preserved Georgian harbor, Nelson’s Dockyard, (named after the English 18th Century sailor, Vice Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson). A name to learn is Sir Viv Richards. Former captain of the West Indies cricket team and regular defeater of the English, the man is a local legend.
