We suggest

Indulge in residential hotel-living in their newly-transformed upscale penthouse located at the top floor on level 32 adorned with art pieces by Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst, luxe furnishings, custom textiles and lighting and a Miele kitchen, wine fridge and 24-hour personal butler

What you need to know about the hotel

Arguably the city’s most luxe hotel, the views and the Ritz-Carlton brand of hospitality are hard to beat

  • Of 608 guest rooms, only one is the Ritz-Carlton Suite: A 2,347-square-foot haven of Oriental carpets and Club Lounge privileges
  • The famed Sunday Champagne Brunch includes unlimited vintage Moët & Chandon, tons of fresh seafood and 50+ varieties of cheeses
  • The bath menu is an indulgent way to enjoy the breathtaking views on display even in the bathroom

For starters, the guestrooms are approximately 25% larger than most hotels in the city. And who doesn’t like a little more space to spread out? Plus, all that room feels even bigger thanks to huge, floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the city skyline or the Marina Bay. But more than anything, it’s the little things—like rain showers and lighted credenza drawers—that illustrate how much thought was put into every detail of this property.

Don’t miss the new Summer Pavilion, surrounded by a modern Chinese garden and a glass and offering an intimate and sophisticated Cantonese dining experience. A private dining room can function as a pre-event area, with three built-in LCD projectors and screens available to cater for various functions. The new Tea Salon situated within the restaurant allows diners to choose from a selection of specialty teas to pair with their meal. Then there is Colony, the elegant British-colonial restaurant evoking the nostalgia of a bygone era alongside ‘live’ culinary showmanship, showcasing the best of Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, Malaysian, Western and local dishes, bringing diners on a culinary journey through Singapore’s heritage cuisines. And the afternoon tea experience is elevated with the addition of a flute of Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial Champagne.

Where is it and what's nearby

Glamorous Marina Bay is your ticket to the fashionable side of Singapore

  • Three malls—with a staggering 2,000 shopping and dining options—are just a covered skybridge away from the hotel
  • Sentosa Island — a 15-minute drive from the hotel — is a kaleidoscope of attractions and activities: a tropical resort, nature park and heritage center rolled into one
  • Arab Street, famed for its traditional silks and basketry, is a sensory delight and well worth the five-minute drive

Often called the gateway to Southeast Asia, Singapore is a unique city (and country!) whose culture is a lively mash-up of surrounding Asian nations. We love that this exotic city has plenty of room for traditional enclaves, as well as ultra-cosmopolitan districts with outstanding shopping, dining and nightlife. The area surrounding the Ritz-Carlton Millenia definitely falls into the latter category.

Nestled in the Marina Bay precinct—Singapore’s new downtown hub—the 32-story hotel boasts seven acres of tropical landscapes that provide phenomenal views for the guestrooms. Marina Bay has a mix of commercial, retail, entertainment and recreational facilities to keep you occupied and is minutes from attractions like the Art Science Museum, Integrated Resorts, Gardens by the Bay, Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay and the Singapore Flyer—things usually at the top of visitors’ agendas.

How to enjoy Singapore

Perhaps it is Singapore’s location and status in the world of international trade, but there is something about this island-city-state that fizzes with the thrill of potential, a sense of audacity only matched by its architecture

  • Enjoy a show by local or international artists at the former Palladian mansion and parliament, The Arts House
  • See the sculpture First Generation at Cavenagh Bridge. It captures a group of five boys at play, diving into the Singapore River
  • Take in sweeping panoramas of the city with a ride in the Singapore Flyer, the world’s second highest ferris wheel at 541 feet

Singapore’s stunning skyline boasts an architecture that is almost sculptural. It is daring too. Take the Gardens by the Bay. This enormous park has an aerial walkway, towering Supertrees, a 100ft waterfall and fragrant, lush tropical gardens. For a sky-high view of the skyline, take a ride in one of the air-conditioned capsules of the Singapore Flyer. This giant Ferris wheel is 42 storeys high and affords wonderful views of the city and bay.

Orchard Road is Singapore’s upmarket shopping center. The three-mile street is a showcase for the world’s most exclusive brands and hosts six department stores and 22 malls. The most upscale of these are the Paragon and Ngee Ann City malls. A culinary capital with a large handful of Michelin Stars, choose from a wonderful range of Japanese, French, Malay and Chinese restaurants.
